It was through my years of competing in Miss Arkansas where I learned to dream big, win scholarship money to earn my degree, and have since been a person of passionate vision, and a channel through which many creative endeavors are now manifesting. 

. 

As an MAO volunteer, I created and designed the Green Is Gorgeous online new media interactive video eco-contest http://greentwithtamara.com. As West Coast Sales Consultant for MAO, my sales expertise includes program book sales and sponsorships. Having worked for an Entertainment Product Integration company in film and television 2004-2007 while working my way through my masters degree here in Los Angeles, where my thesis was to create positive television programing, I launched a local television talk show and produced 30 episodes from 2006-2008. I've been a local news anchor/reporter here in Santa Monica since 2005. And in 2009, I moved from the talk show arena to launch a green online video production company and new media site.

As a former state level contestant, scholarship winner and 13-year scholarship donor to the state level, I donate my online interactive video eco-contest in honor of the non-profit organization that helped me earn my degree in Broadcast Journalism 13 years ago. It is through my resulting television career that I am able to give back as a content producer who still believes strongly in the transformative powers of the Miss America Pageant system.

I have been honored to be part of the MAO team this year. Under the organization's supervision, I was able to work toward bringing in sponsorship for the pageant and ad sales for the Competition Magazine. Best of all, through the power of social media, the interactive eco-contest is driving more viewers to the live televised pageant special on TLC.

This grassroots movement is interactive and educational for the whole family, for all 50 states, DC, the Virgin Isalnds and Puerto Rico.  

Finally, the winner of Green Is Gorgeous, wins an array of carefully chosen eco-luxury prizes. Our winner will continue to educate viewers about green issues, why Green Is Gorgeous, and make a difference to Heal Our Planet Earth.
